Potty training is rough. I wanted to quit 30 minutes in and still kinda do a little bit even though we are so close. It could have been worse, I know. But it was bad. I know it is taking a little longer because I can't focus completely on each of them. I decided to do the 3 Day Potty Training Method. A fellow twin mom, Kristi, just did it with her girls and has helped me out so much with it.

The first day was the worst. they peed constantly. I don't know how a little person can pee that much or that often. I couldn't get messes cleaned up before there was another. I thought they would never stop peeing. We didn't leave the bathroom except for lunch. And at lunch we got up 3 times to go potty. After the third time I decided they didn't need to eat anymore. After naptime was better. Not great but better. Sawyer woke up dry!!! Mason did not. I decided then that I would do pullups at night until they wake up in the morning dry or are in a toddler bed. After naptime Sawyer didn't have a single accident!! Granted she spent like 5 hours in the bathroom and went potty 8 times in row once, but her panties stayed dry. It was so encouraging. They also went a lot longer in between peeing.

Highlights-

-While I was chasing a naked Sawyer to get her undies back on Mason was in the bathroom stiring his pee in the big potty with my hairbrush. Great.

- While I was wiping up a huge pee puddle Sawyer gets up off the frog potty and Mason picks up the bowls and dumps a TON of pee out all over the floor. At this point, there is nowhere to stand that is not wet.

-Mason tried to sit in a large teapot with his undies on and peed in it.

-Sawyer was sitting on her potty seat watching to see if she was peeing and she started shaking her head and said, "it's no working mommy."

The second day was as a little bit better and a lot worse. Better- they held it a lot longer. It was also harder because Eric had to work that night so he was in the room next to the bathroom sleeping. It was harder to spend time in their room (which is carpet). So one would start peeing on the floor and I would scoop them up and run to the potty (like the book says), but then I would have to run back and grab the other kid (who was usually upset because they had to stop playing). You are supposed to keep your kid in sight at all times so that you can watch them and remind them to tell you when they need to go potty. But by the time I got the first situated the second was usually peeing everywhere now. So I would have to run that one in too. So I have two kids needing a wipe, m&m, to flush, not wanting to put undies back on, wanting to flush 50 times, etc. And two messes and trails to clean up and keep them out of all while making sure they don't turn around and go again. And try to keep them quiet... fun right???

The third day was much better. Not great, but much better. We had 6 accidents total. Mason-4, Sawyer-2. They still won't poop on the potty (tmi, i know), so we still have a ways to go. But the book said multiples would probably take longer (I'm sure a big part of that is that you aren't able to devote your full attention to each child when there is more than one!). We are on our way to being potty trained though. It will just get better, right? :)
