Grandparents and Aunt Gaffy

My parents were in town last week visiting. It was great to see them and was great to have extra help getting things done. I went to the dentist, got my hair cut, put away too small baby clothes and had lots of help making tons of baby food. The babies have had lots of different foods now. Lots of things I would never eat!

Here is what they eat now: Acorn Squash, Sweet Potatoes, Carrots, Green Beans, Peas, Asparagus, Egg Plant, Yellow Squash, Zucchini, Beets, Broccoli, Cauliflower, Plum, Apples, Bananas, Peaches, Nectarines, Pears, Kiwi, Avacado, and Pumpkin. They each have their favorites too. Mason loves sweet potatoes and acorn squash, and Sawyer loves avocados and plums. We gave them beets while my mom was here and that is one of the funniest things yet. It dyed their faces and their bottoms (even their poo was purple!!).

They are also both crawling now. Mason figured it out this week, but he will only do it if he is highly motivated!

This last week has been great for business! I booked 2 weddings and made an awesome deal with the Abilene Classical Chorus for advertising. I also shot pictures of 7 different families!

Jen has also come to visit this last week. She is in Lubbock for a rotation, so it is easier for her to visit. It has been a while since she last saw the babies and they have grown so much since then!

Part of Being a Twin...

Sometimes you have to wait to eat, sometimes you have to wait to take a bath, sometimes mommy is holding the other baby and not you, and sometimes your twin tackles you!

8 Months

The babies are 8 months old today! They are getting so big and so old. Sawyer is crawling and pulling up now. Mason isn't interested in crawling though. I found Sawyer pulled up looking over her crib a couple of days ago, so we have lowered their mattresses. While I was feeding Mason I watched her pull the changing pad over to her crib and try to climb on it and use it as a bridge to the changing table. Mason still loves to jump though. He would much rather jump than crawl. It seems like they are learning new things every day right now. They learn how t make new sounds and faces all of the time. They are so cute and so much fun!

Here are the first 2 things I see in the morning:

Funny Faces

The babies have both started to pucker their lips and breathe in through their noses. Mason started doing it first and I guess Sawyer learned from him. They do it all the time though, even when they are eating.

Soak up the Sun

The babies have been feeling better this week so I decided it was time to blow up the baby pool. They sit up really well, so I don't have to worry about them face planting in the water as much anymore. So I blew up the pool, took off their clothes and headed out back with 2 babies, 2 towels, a bumbo, a cell phone and a camera in my arms. The water out of the hose is pretty cold, so Sawyer wasn't a big fan at first. Mason immediately started splashing and loved it. He was soaking wet pretty quick. They sat in the pool for a while until Mason pushed Sawyer over in the water. It was all over for her then. I ended up holding her and letting him splash and play. I tried again today, but the only way Sawyer was happy was if I was in the pool with her. And it is a very small pool.

Sawyer is still very close to crawling, but not quite there. Mason has started moving around pretty well, but I am not sure how because he never does it when I am around. They have both started puckering their lips this week, which is super cute. And Mason has learned how to clap. I have been working quite a bit lately, but I have a small break from weddings. I have just had lots of shoots. I was at a Martial Arts Center 2 days this week and had a senior session. And I have 2 senior sessions next week.
