We have had a busy week of playing and packing. Tomorrow we are leaving for Kingsville. We have lots of fun plans while we are there. We are going to go to the beach, the San Antonio zoo, shop and do lots of swimming. Here are some pictures from our week.

We went to the pool one day with our friends and had so much fun!

This makes me laugh out loud every time.

This was the WORST part of my week. Lauren moved to Waco this week. We have not lived in different cities (not including study abroad or summers) since we met and lived together our freshman year. I am going to miss her sooo much.

Mason and Sawyer's cousin Chloe was in town and we got to spend some time with her! She is such a cute, smart little girl. I love to watch them all interact with each other. I am so glad that they have a cousin their age to grow up playing with! And it is always fun to see Alison and Marilyn :)

We had a friends birthday party today. It was so much fun. They had 3 pools and one of them had a water slide. The kids had a blast running around, but I was exhausted afterwards from trying to keep them from drowning!!

This past week has been very busy with work, play dates, dinners, visitors and more. So I will just update with the pictures.

We took the kids to Fort Imagination one day last week. It was so much more fun than the last time we took them. They were able to climb up the structure and go down the slide by themselves. They loved it!

My friend Robin came into town so that I could take her engagement pictures! It was so much fun to see her and get to hang out a little. We went to lunch with Robin & Derrick and Lauren & Curtis so that we could all meet Derrick and get to know him.

One day last week I took the kids over to their Great Grandpa's house to run around in his big back yard! Mason really enjoyed chasing his cat. Such a boy.

The rest of the week we have spent playing with friends and just hanging out!

These towels pictured below are by far my favorite that I have found for them (got them at Khols)! Mason is a monster and Sawyer is a butterfly. So cute :)

Lazy Summer Weekends

We didn't have a whole lot going on this weekend. Eric and I went out to lunch and to see Harry Potter on Friday. I thought it was great!! Other than that we just relaxed, hung out and played games, and swam. We tried out arm floaties on Mason, but they weren't very successful. We will have to wait for next summer for those.

On my last post I put a link to the ABC book I designed for Mason and Sawyer. Well now I am working on a friends and family book for them. I think it will be great for helping them to learn names and remember distant relatives they don't get to see very often!

ABC....

I saw a post on my friend Allison's blog about making a personalized book for your kids and I LOVED it! So I took pictures of some of the kids toys and designed the pages in photoshop. I just ordered the book and I can't wait until it gets here! Here is the book I made: ABC Book

Our Week

We have had an interesting week so far. Some good and some bad. We will start with the good.

We celebrated Mason and Sawyer’s half birthday. I gave them some of the toys they got for their birthday that I had saved. I also made a birthday cake to take over to the Groves house for our weekly dinner.

We had some fun visitors. Some friends from Kingsville that now live in Hawaii stopped by for a visit. It was so good to see them! Elizabeth even brought Mason and Sawyer some awesome bracelets with their name in Hawaiian on them. My friend Adriane was also in town and I haven't seen her in so long! It was great to see her too.

We almost had a house fire. One wall of our house randomly lost power and we found this outside.

Some friends of ours from church have a 3 year old little girl that was diagnosed with leukemia this week. My heart breaks for them. Please say a prayer for Tatum and her family!

I hope everyone has a great weekend! I am looking forward to seeing Harry Potter and lots of pool time!

Favorite Products

I have quite a few pregnant friends right now and one of them (Rachael) has been asking me to do a list of my favorite things I have had for the babies over the past year and a half. Some of the things are more for the baby stage and others are for the toddler stage, so here it goes:

1. Pampers Swaddlers and later on Cruisers- These have been the best diapers for us. They have held the most pee and poo in and have worked the best in general. I also only use pampers sensitive wipes. They get the least diaper rash from those.

2. Gerber Grins and Giggles Sweat Pea lotion and wash- I love the way this stuff smells! One of my friends gave me some my shower and I have used it ever since.

3. Hooter Hider- Eric's aunt gave me this gift and I used it sooo much. It is a must have for any nursing mom!

4. Kiddopotamus bib- this bib is my favorite. My kids use it for every meal. It catches food and protects clothes really well and is easy to clean.

5. Cedarmont Platinum Bible Collection- I can hardly describe to you how much my kids love these videos. We got them back in december when we drove 14 hours to Colorado. THey are cheesy 80's videos, but if we let them the kids would watch for hours. They both get very still and have a TV face when they are on. I also like the Praise Baby dvd's, but the kids like the Cedarmont better unfortunately.

6. SippiGrip- These are a life saver when you are eating out to keep the cups off the floor!

7.Travel Tray- These trays have worked really well for us when traveling if the kids need to have a snack or meal in the car. And they are easy to store!

8.Snack Catchers- These are also great for snacks like goldfish!

9. www.wholesomebabyfood.com - Since I made all of their baby food this site was invaluable. It was so much cheaper and healthier to do it this way.

So there is the list. I am sure I have left out some great things, but that is what I could think of right now! What else do you mom's out there use and love??

18 Months

Today Mason and Sawyer are 18 months old. Sometimes it is hard to believe it. I can't believe how fast it is going by. They are so grown up already. They say so many words and are starting to really express their opinions. They love to play outside and they love to read. They are very busy kids right now and I have had a hard time getting a good 18 month picture of them. First is a set of them at 6 month intervals and then there are 3 days of tries for their 18 month picture!

Best Friends

We have had a fun weekend of swimming and playing outside! We have been to the pool the past 4 days. My friend Rachael came into town to visit before Lauren moves next month, and we had a blast! I met Lauren and Rachael my freshman year of college and we will be friends the rest of our life. They are such amazing friends. I don't know what I would have done without them the past 8 years. They have been with me through all of the major events. They were both bridesmaids in our wedding, they went to school with me, worked at ACU with me, stood by me through infertility and were there when I had Mason and Sawyer. I love them so much!

Books

Mason and Sawyer LOVE books right now. They stand at the book shelf, point at it and sign please constantly. They think of new and more dangerous ways to scale the bookshelf to get to the higher books all of the time. And they fight over books quite often as well. Sawyer calls them bookabee and Mason calls them cookie. I don't know why or where that came from!

Here are a few pictures from playing outside yesterday. I let them eat outside at their picnic table for the first time and they did much better than I expected. I also let them have popsicles while we were out there. Mason would not hold his by the stick though and kept getting mad when his hand got too cold. He would hand it back to me and then get mad because he wanted it back.

This is how Sawyer likes to slide down the slide-

Happy Birthday Leslie

A good friend of mine is turning 30 today! Leslie is such a great friend. She is such a fun and caring person, and such a great mom. She has helped me out so much and given me so much advice. Anytime I have a question, I can always count on her to have the answer. I love her and her kids, and I enjoy any time I get to spend with them. I am so blessed to have them in my life and I truly look forward to all the years to come of our kids growing up together. So Happy Birthday Leslie! I hope that you have a great day :)
