baby shower & biscuit

well here's a long overdue update. some sweet friends at church threw an awesome baby shower for logan. i meant to get a picture of me with all the hostesses and somehow it never happened :(

we took the kids to veggie tales live.

and we got a new puppy, biscuit (sawyer named him). he is a teacup yorkie and weighs 2 pounds! he is really lazy and sweet and the kids love him.

the rest of our time has been spent at birthday parties and playdates.

update

a little bit of what's been going on....

my c-section got moved up to march 26th. i still have placenta previa and maberry doesn't see it moving so he wanted to move it up even further. but tadvick wants to go to then if we can. which is great with me because i have photo sessions to do before then and i would really prefer that logan not be too premie. i hope she doesn't have to have any oxygen/feeding tubes, etc. i have made it as far as i did with the twins though! i delivered them at 33 weeks 6 days and i am 34 week today.



i feel like there is so much to be done before she gets here. we have 4 weeks or less. and we still haven't moved over the crib or changing table or swings or carseat and stroller, etc... and i have sessions before then, i want to take the kids easter pictures, and so much more!! let's hope she waits until the 26th.

every night right now mason builds a space ship to sleep in. he has always slept in the corner :) so cute.

just some pictures

i went out and took pictures of the kids today. the weather has been so nice, i didn't want to waste it. anytime i ask mason to smile this is what he does. we call it his chandler smile (if you have seen that episode of friends you will understand).

cracks me up. so you have to make him laugh if you want a real smile.

happy valentines day

 here they are making the valentines for their classmates. they decorated a heart for each kid and had a lot of fun telling me what each one said.

and today for valentines day we woke up to heart pancakes and pink milk :) then eric got me roses and a yummy cake from mckays. someone please come over and eat some so i don't eat the whole thing!!

daddy daughter dance

this was the second year sawyer has been able to go to the daddy daughter dance at church. it is the most precious thing ever. all these little girls all dressed up to go have dinner with their daddies. last year sawyer wasn't that excited about it, but this year she was SO excited. she was excited about her new dress and her new shoes. she was super excited about curling her hair. big hit (thanks for getting the curling iron chrys). and as soon as eric walked in the door she followed him around giving him orders and talking. non. stop. she was ready to go. she even danced this year!

boats and costumes

these days the kids are spending all of our time at home in some type of costume building a boat. these boats are made out of all the chairs in the house and usually have lots of babies in them. i love how creative their little imaginations are right now.

baby shower

my sweet friends threw a baby shower for logan at our last girls night out. it was so much fun and they gave us some really great stuff (it is amazing how much baby stuff has come out since m&s were born). these girls are so awesome and are the best support group around. i can't imagine what it would be like without our playdates and girls nights out! thank you guys so much!!

yummy valentine cake

This week we made some yummy cake that I always liked as a kid. And I pretty much ate the whole thing. yikes. I thought I would share the recipe though since it is kind of a valentine looking cake!




Red Earth Cake

½ C Crisco
1 ¼ C sugar
1 egg
1 Tbs. cocoa
1 tsp. red food color
2 Tbs. strong coffee

2 C flour

1 tsp. salt

1 tsp. baking soda

1 C buttermilk

1 tsp. vanilla

Cream Crisco, sugar & egg. Mix together in a cup the cocoa, food coloring and coffee.
Then add to the sugar mixture.
Alternate mixing the flour and buttermilk.
Add the salt to the flour and the soda to the last part of the buttermilk.

Bake at 350 35 to 40 min. in a 9 x 13 pan that has been sprayed and floured.


Discovery Icing

1 ½ C sugar (granulated not powdered)
2 egg whites
1/3 C boiling water
¼ tsp. cream of tarter
¼ tsp. salt
2 Tbs. white Karo
1 tsp. vanilla
½ tsp. almond

Boil water in a double boiler.  In the top pan/bowl we used a whisk attachment for
a hand mixer and beat the sugar, egg whites, water, cream of tarter, salt and Karo
for 5 min.  Then add the vanilla and almond extracts and beat 5 more min. with
the water just simmering.  You should probably check the water level between the
times to beat it.

birthday week

the kids actual birthday was sunday the 15th. it was pretty much just a normal day since it was on sunday. after church we opened presents and had lunch with mimi and papa. then some friends of ours came over that evening...more presents and more eating. these kids are spoiled rotten.

below is a picture of sawyers favorite babies that she got for christmas and bday. she loves them. they sleep with her (and have a particular place) and she always wants to play babies now. the kids had a tea party at school for their birthday where they got to pick the menu. so cute. the rest of the pictures are just from our week playing with friends. enjoying all of the crazy warm weather we have had!! zoned out after playing outside...
