Happy Half Birthday!

The babies are 6 months old today! I can't believe it. It goes by so fast. I am amazed at how much they have learned and how much they can do now. And I am a little bit sad that they aren't my itty bitty babies anymore. But only a little bit because each phase is so much fun. Their smiles and giggles are absolutely priceless.

Here are few things they are doing right now

Mason-

- can sit up on his own for a long time
- loves his feet
- puts everything in his mouth
- is so tickilish and giggles all the time

Sawyer

- loves to stand (with our help)
- rolls and scoots all over the place
- puts everything in her mouth
- is so curious about everything - she watches everything and stares at
things and just takes it all in

6 Month Check-up

We had our 6 month check up a little early because our doctor is going to be out of town the rest of the month. The babies are growing great and staying on their growing curve. They have both gained more than 2 pounds since their last visit. Mason weighed 14 lbs and was 24 3/4 inches long. Sawyer weighed 12.6 lbs and was 23 7/8 inches long. I am so glad that they are growing like they should be. I know they will be small for their age for a while, but I hope they will be able to catch up eventually.

4th of July Weekend

We have had a fun weekend. This is one of the first 4th of July's that Eric hasn't worked. We cooked out at his parents house and played games. Then the rest of the weekend we hung out, played games and watched movies. My parents have been here this past week visiting too. They have gotten in some good grandkid time and have helped me around the house some. My mom and I got all of the 0-3 month clothes packed away and organized the 6-12 month clothes that we have so that they are ready to go in a few months.
Sawyer has started moving now. Both of the babies get up on their knees and elbows when they are on their bellies, but Sawyer scoots and rolls all over the place. It's so sad, she doesn't stay where I put her anymore.

My mom also built their exersaucer this weekend. It has been sitting in their room with the part everywhere because I can never sit down and do it.

Update

This past weekend I loaded up the babies and drove to Austin for a photography workshop. Last week I got an email from a photographer friend about this awesome workshop. So I called my parents to see if they would meet me there so that they could watch the babies while I went. They sad yes and so we made a weekend of it. The I Shoot People Tour was great. I got a lot of new ideas for my business and learned some new things. It was a lot of fun and it got me really excited about my business. I am going to start offering some new products and start taking a new approach to some things.

Eric got a new position at work this week. He is the new Training Officer! Which means that he will be working out at the academy training the new officers, and his hours will be 8-5!! He has never had weekends off since we have been married. He has been working nights for the past 7 years. I am so excited!! It's going to be very different, but so much fun to have him home every night!

And now for the babies... They are very into feet and spitting right now. The first thing they do when they lay down is grab their feet. Mason is starting to chew on everything and drool even more than usual. I think he will be getting a tooth soon. Sawyer is getting so strong. She can stand on her own for a long time if she is leaning on something.

5 Months Old!

The babies turned 5 months old yesterday! I can't believe how fast it goes by. Things are starting to get easier. They are sleeping better a lot of the time and starting to go longer between feedings. They are getting stronger and learning to do new things all the time.

  • rolls over both ways
  • laughs/giggles a bunch
  • is very tickilish
  • sucks on his thumb
  • puts everything in his mouth
  • always pulls on the ring on the playmat
  • still drools constantly

Sawyer
  • rolls over both ways
  • likes to carry on conversations
  • needs a haircut! Her hair in her eyes and over her ears
  • spins circles on the playmat when upset
  • still won't take a bottle
  • spits when she talks

Happy Father's Day

Eric has been such a great dad. He took care of me and spoiled me while I was pregnant, and now he takes care of and spoils all three of us. I don't know what I would have done without him the first few months. I wouldn't have gotten any sleep for sure. He has bee so helpful and more than pulls his weight. The babies love him so much and their faces light up when they see him!

More Swimming

The other day we got the babies out in the pool in their floaties. Mason loved kicking around, but Sawyer wasn't a big fan. I can't wait until next summer when they enjoy getting in and playing in the water!

Summer Fun

Today we took the babies swimming for the first time. They did great! They cried a little at first, but I think it was because the water is still pretty cold. After they got used to it they were great.

Biker Babes

I am starting to get a little backed up with work now. I had another wedding this past Saturday and I have weddings the next 3 out of 4 weekends plus other shoots during the week! Lots of pictures to edit and albums to design.
