Here For the Duration

We are back at the hospital now until the babies come. We had our appointment with Dr. Maberry and Dr. Tadvick this morning. The babies weigh 5 pounds and 4 pounds 14 ounces, which is great. My blood pressure is staying really high though so they think I probably have preeclampsia. Tadvick is running some tests and we should know more tomorrow afternoon. If I have preeclampsia there is a good chance that they will take the babies this week. The good thing though is that I 34 weeks on Wednesday and they already weigh 5 pounds. So they will be fine, they will just have to stay in the hospital for a while. Dr. Tadvick said that I could last another 2 weeks, but he doubts it. So we will just see what happens!

Funny Pregnancy Stories

Here are a few funny stories from the last month. I'm sure there are many more, but here are a few that I remember.
  • We were eating lunch at El Chico about a month ago with Eric's parents and sister. They were all making fun of me for some reason and were laughing so hard that someone snorted. Which made me laugh even harder, which turned into crying. Everyone was just looking at me and I couldn't stop crying. Gotta love those pregnancy hormones.
  • On my way to the hospital for my third visit for contractions, I was riding in my sister inlaws bug. When we got there and I got out and the entire back of my jeans were wet. I asked her if she had spilled anything in her seat and she said no. I started freaking out because I thought that my water had broke and I hadn't even realized it. But it turned out there had been something wet in the seat.
  • I have been sleeping in the recliner for a while now. The other day my alarm went off and Eric was still asleep. So thinking I could reach it and wanting to turn it off as quick as possible so it wouldn't wake Eric up, I leaned over to try to reach it with out getting up (since getting out of the chair takes time now). I was further than I thought though and the recliner tipped over with me in it. I'm sure it would have been quite a sight to see!
  • Today someone knocked on the door and I tried to look through the peephole to see who it was. But I could not find a way to get close enough to the door to see through the peephole. That is when you know your belly is too big!

We go to both doctors on Monday and I can't wait to see how much the babies weigh. I hope everyone has a great weekend.

Christmas and Baby Update

We had a great Christmas. Everyone spent the day at my inlaws opening presents, eating and playing games.

The babies are doing great. We saw Maberry today and they weigh 4 pounds each! They are huge! They are both still breach and their heads are right next to each other like they are talking. We are so glad that they are already so big. The longer they have time to grow the better.

Back home

We are back home just in time for Christmas. I am so glad that we didn't have to stay in the hospital! Things look fine though and the contractions are under control. So hopefully we will have a few uneventful weeks. I will be laying around the house doing nothing. My parents got into town yesterday and today my dad took a few pictures of my big pregnant belly. Here I am at 30 weeks:

Another update

Well we are still at the hospital until Friday. We came up here on Monday because I thought I was having contractions. Which I was, and I was dilated to 1 1/2. So Tadvick started me on procardia to stop the contractions. It has worked really well and he thinks I should be able to go home on Friday. I will have to stay on the medicine and I will still be on bed rest, but I get to go home! He will take me off the medicine at 34 weeks and we will see what happens after that. Please pray for the babies to stay in my tummy as long as possible!

Our First Visit to Hendrick

Yesterday was an interesting day. I went to my doctor appointment with Tadvick and I started having contractions while I was there. So he sent us over to labor and delivery to see if he could stop the contractions. They put me on an IV with fluid and eventually got the contractions to stop. So he let me go home and has put me on bed rest. This was so much sooner than I thought I would have to go on bed rest if I ended up on it at all. So I am so glad that the babies are ok for now and won't be born anytime real soon, but I am really not excited that I have to be on bed rest. Can anyone recommend a good book?

9 weeks Left!

Yesterday we went to see both doctors. The babies weigh 2.15 and 2.14, and are now both breech. So I have a head in each rib and they are both conspiring to kick my bladder! They somehow switched places too. Dr. Tadvick said everything looks good and that I am already full term for one baby! I am feeling pretty big and uncomfortable at this point. But it is all worth it! Here is the 28 week belly shot:

Progress

We finally finished painting and got new carpet! It looks so great. And we finally got our entry way cleared out. It will still be a while before everything is organized and put away, but for now you can at least walk through our house again.

Eric putting the cribs together:

The carpet before:
The hall way packed full of baby stuff:
The carpet after:
Mason's Crib:
Sawyer's Crib:
The babies will be here in less than 10 weeks! I am so excited and so glad that things are almost ready for them.

Baby Shower

This weekend was my baby shower here in Abilene. It was amazing! We are so blessed to have so many great friends and family, and such a wonderful and giving church family. They are just so amazing. Thank you just doesn't seem like enough. We got so much of the stuff that we will need for Mason and Sawyer (it is crazy how much stuff 2 babies need!). I was overwhelmed by everyone's generosity. I had great shower hostesses that kept everything running smoothly and helped me out so much. They all worked so hard and I love them all! Here is a pictures of my hostesses:
Here is a video of all of the loot and a few pictures from the shower:

Thank you, thank you, thank you everyone!

24 Week Checkup

We have decided on names for the twins- Charles Mason and Sawyer Kate! We went to both doctors on Wednesday for my 24 week checkup. Everything looked really good. Mason is breech and Sawyer is transverse though. They were both 12 inches long and weighed 1 pound 11 ounces and 1 pound 10 ounces.
Here is a little clip from the sonogram where you can see Mason's face!
